Our Kinder Karate® 5 & 6 year old class curriculum was written to give children this age the extra boost they need to succeed in the next steps of their lives. Our classes incorporate character-based lessons, taking abstract concepts and making them into easy to understand behavior tasks.

This age is particularly important in teaching boundaries, how to be respectful, yet still maintain some independence. We teach the difference between a question and a command - and the appropriate way to respond to each one. This can be a really useful tool as they are navigating the new, uncharted waters of school, and even other sports or activities.

Many times, kids in this age group are overestimated by parents and teachers.  After all, they're not "little" anymore, like the preschoolers, but they are not "big" like the upper grades, either.  Though they may have to capacity to "listen" better, many times, they lack the self-control (both physically and mentally) that they need to deal with the higher expectations that "everyone" seems to have of them now.  

Our classes start to focus more on instructions with more steps, working on their memory, and using more reps of movements to build coordination and core strength.

Our classes will teach them how to control their body and mind, preparing your child like no other activity or sport can. They will learn to control themselves, even when excited.  They'll learn how to be part of a team, as well as celebrating their successes as an individual. They will learn the boundaries of their physical capabilities, and how to soar beyond them! And most importantly, instead of just being a "follower," they will learn what it takes to be a good leader, and will be encouraged to set the example in class for more inexperienced students.
